Every single person who comes to James's Place automatically becomes a member of James's Place Community Group (JPCG).  JPCG exists to encourage and enable disabled people to get out into the community.  With that aim in view, JPCG arrange "Away Days" - places of fun and interest chosen by members of the committee, and arrange the Summer and Winter fetes and other fundraising events.  A committee is elected annually, which is comprised mainly of members, but with some staff and volunteers. They are all very hard working and achieve a tremendous amount each year.  In the short time that the Community Group has been in existence, members have had days out in various places, such as:

Canal trips, Winchester Science Centre, Andover Museum, Milestone Museum, Wallop Flying Museum, Exploring Vitacress Salads Ltd, Hawk Consservancy, Magic Shows, Visiting a Farm, a Day at the Seaside, an Evening at the Pub.

I like doing the concrete project and the pop-up toy. I love it here - it’s just amazing!
